How to make "old sepia" images from new photos

The photo below was taken at the Carnevale di Venezia (Venice Carneval) in 2008.

Maybe you would like to give it an older look, a "sepia" effect? Here's how to do it:

Open the image and select Sepia from the list of available effects as shown in the screenshot below:

Choosing the sepia effect

Next click on the Fine Tune button (at the extreme right under the Sepia preview) to get this dialog for choosing the other settings of the filter:

Sepia Effect Filter settings

As you can see you can choose whether or not to have a frame, and if you have a frame what shape it is. You can also choose the actual Sepia colors too, going so far as to change it into a duotone effect.

Anyway, you can see how easy it is and how you choose the exact effect you want. Here are some more examples, all using the same original photograph:

Sepia Filter, rectangular frame

Serpa Filter, Octagonal Frame

Sepai Effect Photo, but with no frame

One last tip: When you have the Sepia image in the window then double clicking on it will bring up the settings dialog so you can adjust them.

Remember that the sepia filter is just one of 150 available in the program.
